The genesis of this
project was our clients' need for more living space. We focused on the
existing basement that provided the space needed but posed several
challenges, due to the location of structural supports and the home's
mechanical systems
We opened up the space by reinforcing the structural supports so we
could remove a few of the existing columns. We also reworked and
relocated the mechanical systems to free up more space. We added windows
to provide egress as well as natural light. The result was a welcoming
space that met the clients' needs and exceeded their expectations.
